A friend sent this link to a remarkable set of pictures of Israeli soldiers on the front lines. It is well worth a look, even if you dont read Hebrew.
This quotation is from Numbers chapter 6 of the Bible.
Wonderful pictures. Thanks for the link. It's a shame we can't post Getty Images they are great pictures. God Bless the IDF and Israel!
(No more Olmert! No more Kadima! No more Oslo!)
Thank you!
I have a hard time reading English, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks for posting and God Bless Israel.
Thank you.
Does anyone know what the black boxes strapped to thier heads are? Just curious.
It is called Tefillin. The block contains passages from the Torah and is worn during prayer.
What great photos. Never, have I ever, seen the spiritual side of IDF soldiers in the field, very few have I'm sure.
It also goes a long way to dispel the notion that the IDF just buys American armor and other weapons. Nope, they develop and manufacture their own. During the cold war the IDF was rated the 3rd most powerful military in the world, with the demise of Russia (so far) are they now No. 2, do I have this right? And this with the UK in mind, amazing.
There's so much we don't see because of the dinosaur/propagandized media in this Socialist country of ours, these are very refreshing. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Huh, so what's with the leather strips around the arms then?
As in Deuteronomy 6:8 - "Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead" - two boxes: on sitting on your forehead, one on your upper arm, attached by these strips.
Ping!
Deuteronomy 6:4-9..
Can someone please tell me the name of the charity that has been advertised on Fox News that helps Jewish families who have been displaced because of the war?
Thanks for that info. I was wondering the same thing myself. I would suppose they would in turn wonder about some of the traditions and practices we have in many of our Christian churches.
Beautiful.
The prayer you posted is prayed by Catholics often.
God bless Israel!!!!
I don't know what Fox mentioned, but these two do very good work: www.onefamilyfund.org and www.zaka.org.il
International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (ICFJ), Great charity.

Teffilin are only used in morning prayer (Shacharit) and not on the Sabbath.
Great pictures. The Orthodox make up a large part of the best units often on the front lines of the IDF. Many come from the so called occupied territories, a sort of live work situation defending their homes.
