This would be like members of the German-American Bund, along with German consular officials, in mid-1941 going on a fam tour of the New York Harbor immigration facilities, because Nazi Germans entering the US were reportedly being 'unfairly singled out' and questioned about their connections to the Berlin regime.

Thanks. While I am not willing to underestimate the stupidity of bureaucrats, I am also mistrustful of using WND as a source. They have a history of exagerrating and twisting things for sensational effect.

Seeking to verify a WND story is rational. Their track record isn't the best. That doesn't make us muslim sympathizers - we just want to have good facts before we engage in a full-blown rant. :-)

What can the Feds be thinking?

It's WND, home of space aliens, I-want-my-dope-legalized, and Navy-shot-down-airliners conspiratroids, so start with your wellington boots on when you read it.

They're a conservative version of al-Reuters...

That said, there are some feds in the great lakes region that are flaky enough to do something this stupid. One who is totally in the tank for Islamic terrorists is SAIC Brian Moskowitz of ICE in MI. Detroit-based Debbie Schlussel, who does get overheated about stuff, calls him "Abu Moskowitz," which is a funny name that always makes me smile, but friends in ICE say he pretty much deserves it.

ICE is a complete mess with cronyism and incompetence from the top down. TSA has never, ever been well-organized or intelligently led (it started with dregs from the ATF and went downhill from there). The best fed agency in the region is FBI, and it's best at holding press conferences taking credit for the accomplishments of local cops. However, "local cops" in Chicago means the enforcement arm of the Daley crime family.

After driving through Chicago twice last month I am just amazed that human beings voluntarily live there. It's like a microcosm of the third world growing on Lake Michigan. Go one way to Wisconsin or the other to Indiana and you're back in America again; you feel like there should be Customs or something.
