Good grief. Couldn't they have found a qualified "Smith" or "Jones"??

Agreed.

David Wallace, a local mayor, would have been a much better choice. He has a simple to spell and easy to remember name.

All of the recent successful write-ins have had short and easy names.. Linda Smith... Ron Packard... Tony Williams..

They could have picked Carol Keeton-McCullan-Rylander-Granma-Jones-Strayhorn-Smith & Wesson as their Write in Candidate.

Texas law says write-in votes would be counted if they said only "Shelley" (or "Shelly") or Sekula or Gibbs or any reasonable approximation thereof.
