He's gonna tear this judge a new a-hole.

It was just this sort of tapping wot stopped the Liquid Bomb plot that would have killed thousands.

Gonzales: Electronic surveillance of AQ. We have talked about this program on numerous occasions to public and Congress. Narrow program focused on where one end of communication is with AQ. It's been effective.

Numerous statements by intel community about the effectiveness of the program. The program is lawful we believe. It's been reviewed by lawyers in administration and NSA.

Today a District Court Judge ruled it was unlawful and we disagree with the decision and we've appealed the decision. There's a stay in place so we willl continue to utilize the program!!!

?: Two judges have said it's illegal so do you regret the statements you and the WH have used to describe the program?

Gonzales: President says it's sufficiently important to assure the American people about the narrow scope and had been reviewed as to its lawfulness and monitored.

?: Plaintiffs (ACLU) said ruling would impact legislative debate.

Gonzales: You have to ask members of Congress.

That may be the intent of her ruling. You can be sure the NYT's are going to be wanting all the details.

?: Do you think it will be upheld on appeal?

Gonzales: We are confident it's a lawful program. It's an important program. We have leaders of intel community that have testified to Congress that it's effective.

?: The Spectre legislation authorizes consolidation of programs such as this, was that intention to avoid result you're presented with today? Will you push for that provision which will nullify the judge's ruling?

Gonzales: W e have multiple litigation about this issue and it will create confusion if we have judges issuing rulings that are different in scope and that's why we're asking for a consolidation.

Rove paid this judge to rule this way, so the debate can be re-opened. ;o)

It's amazing how the claim that this ruling is protecting the rights of Americans afforded them under the Constitution and then somehow also apply the rights to terrorists to continue to do their dirty work with the support of many here...

Rights like the right to be attack us here by those who would seek to do harm to our nation and what it stands for.. and Judges would agree with that.

There is some twisted logic being used by some on the bench.

Judge rules terrorist attacks must go forward.

At least that is how my mind's eye reads that decision.

Twisted logic at FNC, too.

"We'll be following this closely" followed by removing themseleves from the live presser.
