I suggest, stock up on food and ammo. We could be in for a LOOOOOONG ride. Before New Years 2000, I bought a case of cigs, 12 cases of longnecks and as much ammo as I could afford, just to be safe.

I was the total opposite. Everyone was out buying supplies (especially WATER) and my Mother-In-Law called during the day on New Year's Eve and asked if we had "stocked up", my wife confidently told her "No." and then said "Del (That's me.) said nothing was going to happen." She was dumbfounded at why we were ignoring what the government (especially the local government) was telling us. She told my wife "better to be safe than sorry." and that ended the conversation.
I would stock up on cigs, beer and ammo anyway, so your purchases seem like a normal monthly trip to me.
