That's nice. I can't stand Jeff Gordon, and he didn't even race today.
OTOH, Jeff is a great driver, and a champion.
Racing happens.
Thank God.

My tagline is how Jr explained it.
Edwards was loose because Robby was on the inside and Jr was right on his back bumper.....he let off the gas and Jr bumped him.
Racing deal.........he didn't come from 10 feet behind and ram him or anything.
The bad part was Carl came back on the track and smashed right up into the drivers side door of the 8 while Jr had his hand hanging out there. Coulda been something he would have been sorry for the rest ofhis life.

I just get perturbed at bias, the "it's OK for one, but not the other" is pure bovine excretement. It's either part of racing or it's not, equally.
Slept through most of it, but woke up with three more, three more, three more and finally they let them run.

Asked if he saw Edwards coming off pit road, Earnhardt shook his head and said, "I had my hand out the window. He could have taken my hand off. But he didn't. Pretty stupid. That was just rude."
Edwards, who was called to the NASCAR hauler after the race, appeared to have cooled down considerably after getting out of his car.
"He just wrecked me off [Turn] two," Edwards said. "I just wanted to make sure he knew I was mad that he wrecked me. It's racing."
Booing the bump-n-run

ST you saw the race, Jr was right on his bumper. Carl got loose and let off the gas......so what was Jr to do let off and get passed by about 5 cars behind him? I wish they would just let them race.
I think if Robby hadn't been underneath Carl he probably could have saved it.
On the other hand what happened to Carl was not anything that he hasn't done to others already....so it's just racing I guess.

Carl Edwards' quote after spinning Jr out at Atlanta in 2004 ....
"Heck, we're racing," Edwards said. "You're driving racecars sideways off the corner at 180 mph. If I'd have crashed, I would have to say it's just racing. It's happened to me a lot. I've been on the other end of it, so, hopefully, he understands."

That's the way I see it. If you take away the bumping and banging, you may as well draw straws for the winner and save the gas.
Bristol has been forgotten:
DE: Only meant to rattle his cage, didn't mean to wreck him.
TL: He never means to wreck anyone.

I know, but remember the crowd that thought that shouldn't be the case with another driver not too long ago?
Bumpin' and bangin' has been a part of racin' since day one.

Yep what happens on the track stays on the track!
But don't ram a guys driver door with his hand sticking out there and don't go to his victory lane celebration. Like Jr said.
"To run into the side of my car after the race is over with my hand out of the window [and] to come into a man's victory lane - no matter what the circumstances are on the race track, you don't go into somebody else's victory lane - that's just rude. That's just uncouth."
I've sent two e-mails to his radio show asking if Arturo Gatti has been giving him boxing lessons just in case. lol And, that he should have a word of the week for everyone....this weeks being uncouth of course. Dang Jr....using them big words and all, I'm so impressed!

Oh, I don't know WCG, there was a time when the drivers got out of the cars and into fistfights.
Have seen driver's families get into it in the stands on Saturday night. :)

Just a little repercussion from an on track bump. Nothing major.
