Self-Appointed Latino Spokespeople Would Sacrifice National Security to Promote Illegal Immigration, Charges American Hispanic Group
You Dont Speak for Me! rejects assertion that American Hispanics take offense at democratic senatorial ad
Washington, DC--(HISPANIC PR WIRE)--August 16, 2006--As the danger to Americans of all backgrounds, posed by radical Islamic terrorist groups intensifies, individuals and groups purporting to speak on behalf of American Hispanics demonstrated once again that they are prepared to place their open borders agenda above the interests of homeland security, charged You Dont Speak for Me! (YDSFM), a national coalition of American Hispanics.
YDSFM responded to calls from a Houston City Councilwoman, the National Council of La Raza, and the Republican National Hispanic Assembly that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) pull an ad from its web site showing breaches of American border security. Critics of the ad claim that it compares illegal immigrants to terrorists and, in the estimation of Democratic Houston Councilwoman Carol Alvarado, lowers us to a despicable level as breeders of unfounded fear and hatred.
The DSCC ad depicts two people scaling a border fence together with images of Osama bin Laden and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il. The intent of the ad is to highlight the reality that the same poorly protected borders that allow millions of illegal aliens to enter this country can also be exploited by terrorists and other enemies.
The only thing that is despicable is the political opportunism of those who would jeopardize this nations security and the lives of innocent Americans, responded retired Col. Al Rodriguez, chairman of YDSFM. Homeland security is not a racial or ethnic issue, nor is it a partisan one. It is a matter of life and death, as current events have once again demonstrated how vulnerable our nation remains to fanatic Islamic terrorists.
YDSFM is a non-partisan organization and has been critical of both parties poor record on border security and immigration enforcement. There is legitimate criticism to be leveled against the DSCC ad, but it has nothing to do with its content or message, said Rodriguez. The ad could not be more accurate in pointing out the current administrations failure to protect our homeland security. However, with a few exceptions, the Democratic leadership in the Senate has done everything in its power to encourage the chaos that prevails along our borders.
The shrill rhetoric of illegal alien advocacy groups and partisan politicians, not the ads, are divisive and unfounded, contends YDSFM. Our southern border is a sieve a dangerous, life-threatening sieve, Rodriguez asserted. Criticism of the failure to control that border is, by no stretch of the imagination, an attack on any particular ethnic group. It is a legitimate criticism of the failure of the Bush Administration to protect the nation and of the people who violate our laws.
American Hispanics stand shoulder to shoulder with other Americans as our nation and our people face unprecedented threats to our security. If the terrorists succeed in breaching our borders and carrying out another attack, they will not discriminate in their campaign of mass murder. Pointing out that our borders are out of control is not offensive. The failure of either party to do anything about it is offensive, reckless and inexcusable, Rodriguez stated.

Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism
Trust, but verify. Ronald Reagan
Was there ever any doubt?
Beat me to it.
It's about time.
They've been there but they remain quiet. These are some good people speaking for the quiet ones.
They need to get louder!
cair has no problem being loud.
It's CAIR!
(you satanist infidel pig!)
And they get a pass because they hand out candy.
They have a reasonable and sympathetic message that I can relate to. It's about border security and life and death, not "those people", "lettuce pickers" etc.
