Hizbullah inspires Hamas with war-fighting tactics vs Israel

TEL AVIV — Hamas intends to adopt the Hizbullah model in the Palestinian war against Israel.

Officials said the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority would facilitate intensified missile attacks as well as infiltration of Israel. They said Hamas has been impressed by the Hizbullah war in Lebanon. "The accent will be on better equipment and training," an official said. "We expect to see anti-tank missiles, roadside bombs and greater use of tunnels to infiltrate Israel."

Officials said Hamas has been smuggling a range of rockets into Israel. They said they included the Soviet-origin BM-21 Grad.

"They are smuggling Katyushas and Grad missiles into the Gaza Strip," Knesset member Avigdor Lieberman said. "The southern Lebanon scenario must be prevented from being repeated in southern Israel."

Lieberman, head of Israel's Yisrael Beiteinu Party, said neither the government nor the military has briefed the Knesset of Hamas war plans. He said websites found on the Internet contained more detailed information than that presented to parliamentary committees.

Over the last year, Hamas has developed missiles that could strike Ashkelon and beyond. Officials said Hamas's priority was to launch serial production of a Grad variant with a range of about 30 kilometers.

"Israel will rue the day they left a single twig standing in Lebanon."

Im pretty upset about this. The war in Lebanon was an important front in the war on terror. I am upset at our own government for helping to get this fools ceasefire in place. I fear the war on terror has been extended years by this Israeli half effort. The ripple effect from it is already emboldening the islamo facists world wide.

True, but the ripple effect has an effect, too.....witness Britain govt etc now publicly beginning to address the islamic issue(s) in an objective and more global manner....the raghead animals demand attention, and now they're beginning to get it......they and their plans are NOT compatible with civilization, and that aknowledgment is beginning to spread like wildfire

Three steps forward, two back, seems to be the way.

For your reading pleasure. Britain has a long way to go and even then, an explosion can happen at any time:

evil begets evil, and terrorists are like the mythology hydra, a monstrous serpent with nine heads, and would rise up and terrorize the countryside with poisonous venom. p>

Or at least stop sending them water and electricity.

For the first time, Israel's inept government has invited more war by losing this battle. And the next one better be a win for Israel or they are in serious trouble.

I also believe they have caused us great harm in Iraq by giving terrorists across the middle east reason to fight on and refine further their tactics.

They would have if they had been allowed to. I think it should read, "The world will rue the day they forced Israel to leave a single twig standing in Lebanon."

The scheme of Hizb'Allah and Hamas is very obvious now.
To launch Katyushas at Israel then when the IDF comes in, to use anti tank missiles on Israeli tanks and Israeli positions. To lure the IDF into traps and ambushes. Hizb'Allah used anti tank missiles very extensively. Used them like RPGs.

It's very hard to counteract these anti tank missiles. So here is my solution. Israel starts manufacturing Katyushas, superior ones of course. Israel should make ten thousand and more of them. Then when Hamas and Hizb'Allah let loose on Israeli civilians, Israel answers in kind. Just fires Katyushas back at them and where they fall is up to fate. Israel should make enough Katyushas to send 5 to the Muslims for each one sent to Israel.

Israel also selectively uses it's airpower to neutralize Hamas and Hizb'Allah. But for the most part it's a missile/rocket war. But with Israel launching a lot more of them and at Muslim civilians same as the Muslim launch on Israeli ones

No need for Katyushas. For Hamas, Israel can use its normal tube artillery to accomplish the same thing, and I'd have to imagine it's as least as cheap. For Hezbollah, I'd have to imagine that Israel has some sort of MLRS or extended range munitions. I do have to admit, however, that large amounts of cheap unguided rockets does appeal to me.

The whole idea is the Arab Muslims cannot complain when Israel pays them back in kind with Katyushas. The UN cannot squall and complain. Only thing is Israel should make enough Katyushas to send the Muslims 5 for each one Israel gets

Hizb'Allah fires at Israeli civilians - Israel does the same but 5 times as much at Lebanese Shiite towns

Which tank upgrade will defeat anti tank missiles?

It's not a defeat for Israel. Iran lost a deterrent against an Israeli (or, fill in the blank) air-strike on their nuke sites.

Hezbollah blew Iran's wad.
