A vote for Lieberman is a vote for a left wing democrat. I don't smoke crack because it's safer than heroin, and I don't vote for Lieberman because he's less loony than Lament. They're both still liberals, only a few degrees separated.
There are certain things I support, (actually only one) that Lieberman also supports. Lamont, and his family before him, actively work against everything I believe.
I have to admire your stand though. Sort of like the guy going in front of a firing squad and turning down the last cigarette, because it's bad for his health.
I luckily am in a state (Texas) where the Conservative/republicans will again win big. So I of course can pontificate. Unfortunately I am in a congressional district, where a Republican won't even bother running. But then, Henry Cuellar even though a Dem, is not that bad. Won't vote for him, but, he's uopposed.
Now then, Ciro (Zero) Rodriquez D. who lost his seat to Cuellar is going to run against Henry Bonilla R., since redistricting gerrymandering might have created an opportunity . I will have to go next door and volunteer for Bonilla.
Your analogy is totally invalid.
Today's Quinnipiac University poll shows Schlesinger at a stunning 4% (yes that is four percent!!!! for those in Rio Linda or Greenwich) and Lieberman getting 35% of the Demonrats and 75% (yes seventy-five percent) of Republican votes. Lieberman and Jodi Rell should do joint appearances and they will set new records. Howard the Scream Dean will perish, choking on a mega YEEEEEEEEEARRRRRGH! Traitor John will resign his Senate seat and move to the Left Bank.
