BJP prods India to attack Pakistan

NEW DELHI, Aug 12: India’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government to “attack Pakistan and Bangladesh” to dismantle alleged terrorist camps.

“I demand that after taking the international community into confidence, India attack Pakistan to dismantle terrorist centres,” BJP President Rajnath Singh was quoted by Press Trust of India as telling reporters in the western port city of Panaji.

“Not only Pakistan but Bangladesh should also be attacked where terrorist centres are operating,” he added.

Refusing to name the ‘international community’ he had in mind, Mr Singh said international support should be garnered before such attacks.

On the contrary, former foreign minister Jaswant Singh, the BJP’s chief leader in the Rajya Sabha, had pointedly rejected the idea of ‘hot pursuit’ against Pakistan in response to the Mumbai tragedy.

The BJP president’s comments came as India stepped up security across the country ahead of Independence Day after intelligence inputs indicated terrorist plans to disrupt the celebrations.

Although many of the Indian freepers object to this, and they could be correct, the BJP is commonly stereotyped as being a racist, caste-system political group, even if they are conservative in some areas.

BJP opposes the Christianization of India. That doesn't make them anymore racist than the Europeans and Americans who react to talk by CAIR and its equivalent in UK when their members claim their eventual goal is to Islamicize the US and UK.

India has a culture of its own. Obviously, the spread of non-Indian religions will displace this culture like what happened in the Americas and for that matter large parts of Europe. Iceland comes to mind...the most recent. It is why the BJP opposes Muslims and by extension, proselytizing missionaries. As long as missionaries don't call Hindu gods demons and force people to convert with promises of economic aid and education, Hindus and BJP do not have a problem. We more than welcome people who change religions out o their own free will. Don't hyphenate real-politik and your religious affinity. It will serve neither interest well.

What is with all you Indians who get so offended by that fact (that there are stereotyped about the BJP)? If you had knowledge to the contrary, you could simply state that instead of going into a little, typed tirade. First answer Airborne's question. Can you substantiate what you said about Indians being more anti-US than Pakistan? If you want to talk credibility, we can start there now can't we... If BJP is casteist then they are racist Have you been to India? Obviously not. Can you again substantiate your comment with a fact..I mean not some article claiming an opinion. I want you to post a news clip from a secular news source, of an action or an event that will allow us to agree that BJP has committed a casteist act. Now. Mr. "I sit my ass in front of the screen and believe what a certain website claims Genesis says about BJP's casteism", I am waiting. Should you not substantiate either or both of these, you forfeit your credibility and may shove your anti-India, anti-BJP comments up where they came from. Your a$$.

I dont know who the hell this Jedi Master Pikachu guy is but looking at his posts he definitely seems to have a hard-on for Hindus. Perhaps he's a Muslim pretender or maybe his wife ran off with a Hare Kirshna. Could be he lost his job to Asok from Bangalore - I dont know. Either way the guy is smoking crack to present the proposition that Indians are more anti-US than Pakistanis. Its nut-jobs like this that try and distinguish good-Jihadis from bad-Jihadis that are the cause of our predicament today.
