In some European cultures, macaca is also considered a racial slur against African immigrants, according to several Web sites that track ethnic slurs. I swear the left just makes this stuff up. And I'd bet not one person in 100 ever even heard the word macaca.

Well, he's never going to be president.

Since Allen had already been introduced to him and presumably knew his name, I'd think he should indeed have called him by his name.

I had long struck Allen off my list for 2008. He's waffled on illegal immigration by trying to test the waters before arriving at a position.

Political Reality:
Democrats never apologize.
Republicans are required to apologize.
Democrats can do no wrong.
Republicans do nothing BUT wrong.
Democrats speak truth always.
Republicans are liars under all conditions.

Depending on how it is spelled, the word macaca could mean either a monkey that inhabits the Eastern Hemisphere or a town in South Africa. In some European cultures, macaca is also considered a racial slur against African immigrants, according to several Web sites that track ethnic slurs.Shame on the senator for not knowing African racial slurs, as spoken in their native tongue. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to a travel website to book a vacation in Phuket.

Somehow I doubt George Allen knew that. I sure didn't. All in all though he did come across poorly. Should have just offered the guy a cup of coffee and went on with the meeting.

I totally agree. He should have just pointed him out to everyone as a WEBB Spy and gone on with his speach.

Asked what macaca means, Allen said: "I don't know what it means." He said the word sounds similar to "mohawk," a term that his campaign staff had nicknamed Sidarth because of his haircut. Sidarth said his hairstyle is a mullet -- tight on top, long in the back. If anything, it sounds like "silly namecalling," not a racist intent. Too bad they hadn't just nick-named him "mullet" instead. LOL.
