[history]
In a new take on the phrase, "The quickest way to a person's heart is through their stomach," Diana Irey was hunting for votes Sunday with good old fashioned hamburgers -- Big Macs that is.
Irey is challenging Rep. Jack Murtha (D-Pennsylvania), the ardent hawk who now is calling for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, for his southwest Pennsylvania House seat.

Might we be reminded when was the last time Murtha said one thing that wasn't utterly opposed to military action? I thought to be thought a 'hawk' you need to actually support the concept of going to war.
Oops, this is CNN's report. I was thinking that the source was reputable. My mistake.

Sure not like any "hawk" I have seen.
When did "hawks" start packing white flags?
Let alone "ardent" hawks.

Of Course you are correct. IMO the media keep calling Murtha a Hawk instead of a Traitorous POS because they wish to hide the fact he is a cut and run democrat.
He is certainly not a Hawk and he is certainly not an advocate for a strong military. He is a recruiters nightmare.

This is just badly written. The Big Mac was invented by Jim Fattigatti, a McDonald's franchisee in the Pittsburgh area as a reaction to a now long gone rival, Winky's sandwich, the Big Wink.

Ardent Hawk!!??? Does the writer have a clue what that means?? Jack Murtha is one of the LAST people I would categorize as an "ardent hawk".
Methinks me smells a crapola alert coming!!

Recall when the Big Mac actually tasted great? Stiff paper collar around the burger and wrapped in aluminized paper. Now it's microwaved Garbaz.

Despite the CNN spin, it's great that MSM outlets are picking up on the Diana Irey campaign. Unlike "Red" Ned Lamont in Connecticut, Irey doesn't have a personal fortune to spend. The Big Mac giveaway was a good idea for free publicity.

Good morning.
"Rep. Jack Murtha (D-Pennsylvania), the ardent hawk..."
That was the first thing to catch my eye. The fact that it was CNN was second.
