IMHO, it was their politicians who failed...by not letting the IDF do the job the way it must be done.An all too familiar story in the U.S., past and present...

When I saw the IDF bringing up the bulldozers... I knew they were going to handle it the same way as in Gaza.

If the latter is the case, does BiBi have a chance?
According to posters on other threads BiBi is all BS and no substance. He had his chance and revealed he can talk a good game and that is about it

I agree. I can't understand why in the world the Israelis would agree to a cease fire other than public opinion. They will not win world public opinion in any circumstance.

A Globes-Smith survey published on Monday showed that the majority of Israelis (52 percent) believe the IDF was unsuccessful in its Lebanon offensiveBoy, the media just can't wait to pat the terrorists on the back.

Definitely time for him to come back. The IDF didn't fail, Olmert failed to have a pair enough to do what needed to be done. He pussy footed around for too long instead of being strong and decisive.

Here is what I am hoping... and it's hope on my part only because I simply do not know.
I hope that Israel is just stalling to allow the world to see that Hezbollah has no intention of a cease-fire and then Israel pounds those jackasses into the history books!
I can only hope...

The IDF didn't fail. Liberal Olmert failed when he didn't let the Generals run the show. Liberals always fail when it comes to military action. They're whiners, appeasers, cowards.

Israel did act; and any outlaw regime or terrorist groups that puts Israel or the civilized world in danger must be confronted and Israel did that.

The IDF had four whole weeks to erase Hezbollah! There aren't any terrorists left in Iraq after only a few years of fighting, are there?
Most civilians nowadays expect wars to be done within the timeframe of a television miniseries. They're spoiled rotten!

The IDF did not fail. The military did exactly what they were ordered to do.
To: familyop
Then the IDF should have been allowed to keep fighting.

Olmert has placed more faith in the U.N. to secure Israeli security than the IDF.
Resolution 1559 didn't work, and was not enforced, why should this new cease fire be any different.
The IDF was presented with an enormous tactical challenge, targeting and destroying the rocket launchers attacking their civilians. Nothing short of a full invasion and cleaning out all the territory captured would achieve this goal.
