Exactly, and like djsmith posted, they could have bought wholesale it would have saved them alot of gas money.

And, a debit card, a credit card, or checks would start raising eyebrows and possible temporary freezes when a large volume of transactions started to roll in. Cash doesn't have that inconvenience.
