I've noticed that pre 9/11, there were lots of commercial aircraft crashes in the US. Since 9/11, two? Three? Just two crashes in five years. Weird, huh?
11/12/01 - American Airlines lost an Airbus on takeoff from Kennedy when the tail fell off (due to pilot error!)- 260 lost.
1/8/03 - US Air Express Commuter lost with 21 on board.
But it's kind of like when a pitcher is throwing a no hitter. Nobody wants to mention it.

No, I think that it is no coincidence that there are fewer crashes now that we get our shoes xrayed and baggage screened.
Plus, we are using advanced intel techniques, and a host of other things.
I think that some, not all but some, of the crashes prior to 9/11 were enemy action. Some definitely were- Lockerbie, for example. Some are questionable.
