Why on earth anyone on the Israeli side considered this a good deal is beyond me. I have to assume that due to a lack of forcefulness on Olmert's part the Israeli's figured most of the easy gains had already been won. Hopefully in round two Israel will have someone at the helm who will act much more decisively on the ground once the IAF has done the initial work.

Absolutely. And the next time, I sincerely hope we are ready and willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with the IDF and go ahead and do what will eventually have to be done in the entire region. And that is total outright war against all of the terrorist organizations and the nations that support them.

We will never "win" the WOT, IMHO, unless we do so.

Better now than later, again IMHO.

I don't know...perhaps the general staff figures that the political leadership in israel might change in a few weeks or months when the defeat is understood by the public. Then they might have a chance to win round two.
