The real number is about 1,200,000, and they do NOT need to be coddled as an important voting bloc. Any credit for the imaginary 5,800,000 is a deliberate fraud.
Then you're going to have to sue The White House.
The Washington Post, on Sat., Nov 24, 2001, Page A01 ran an article on Muslim population in the U.S.
They reported that 4 major Muslim organizations claimed the population to be between 6 and 7 millions.
Both the White House and the State Department claimed that there were about 7 million Muslims at that time.
The 2001 Britannica Book of the Years stated the figure at 4 millions.
Infoplease and CIA factbook on the web says it is about 3 millions.
Daniel Pipes also goes with the 3 million figure as of his article published in 2002.
(see: http://www.cis.org/articles/2002/back802.html)
The fewer the better as far as I'm concerned.

How many of the 1.2 mil joined in prison and have already lost the right to vote? (non voters cannot forma voting bloc)
