In early May of this year, our dear friend Flyer was diagnosed with a brain tumor and lung cancer. The docs told him the tumor was not curable, but treatable. His understanding of the lung cancer was that it was minor (if there is such a thing).
Several weeks ago Flyer finished radiation. Tuesday was his first chemo treatment. Friday he was feeling bad, but did not want to go to the hospital. His brother finally called an ambulance Saturday morning to take him to the ER.
A few minutes ago Eaker, myself and Roger (Flyers brother) returned from the hospital. The news is not good.
The lung cancer has spread rapidly. Flyer only has use of one lung. He is on constant oxygen, and his breathing is still labored. Because of the cancer and tumor his immune system cannot keep up, now he has a major infection in his left leg. They are giving him antibiotics thru an IV
The doctors told the three of us that Flyer does not want any heroic measured taken. Right now his care instructions are to keep him hydrated and comfortable.
For those wondering why a prayer thread was not started earlier, it is because Flyer did not want one ~ several friends asked if they could start one, and he said no there are others who need prayers more that I.
It truly breaks my heart to type the following words, our good friend and a wonderful man will soon die. I am asking you to please pray for Flyers comfort.
May God be with you, your loved ones and those who are taking care of you, as He works His Will. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen.

Hugs to you my friend.
Amen!
Prayers for him anyway. God bless him and his family!!
Prayers sent, Flyer.
It is impossible not to be a good friend to Flyer. The man has a heart of gold, and deserves the best.
We rarely agree.
We certainly agree on this.
God willing and with the power of prayer maybe things will turn around.
Flyer, we are praying for you, deep into the night, and straight through to morning...
if I could reach through this glass and hold your hand, I would. We will miss you here.
But we are not the only ones who are praying for you. On the other side of the gates of Paradise, there are thoes who await you. If you could only see their faces, the ones who have waited to see you at last, the ones who have stood ever peering to the distant horizon -
The hearts are singing, the voices ringing, and God Himself is joining the chorus. And there by the Door, tails are thumping, for you are home at last and they have waited so patiently for you...
Welcome Home, dear Flyer, welcome Home.
There's no shame in asking for prayer. We ALL need it at some point in our lives. Keeping someone in my thoughts and prayers is such a privilege for me. Bottom line is we're all one big family. My prayers are with you, Flyer. So many here who really care about you, FRiend.
