You won't get any flames from me regarding Field of Dreams. I liked the whole semi-spiritual tone of it, the way it was photographed and scored, but it was a huge "So what?" when I belatedly saw it on video. I do enjoy the filmmaking, but I still think it was hugely overrated.
I'm betting this "epic mini-series" will NOT take us into the world of Bill from Chapaqua or Jamie Gorelick ...
Fiction.
Perhaps not.

MORE evidence that this may NOT be a Bush bashing apology for Clinton's neglect of our security.
Praise for this film from a previewer on a conservative site!
Some quotes from the review:
"I recently attended an advance screening of ABCs outstanding, epic miniseries The Path to 9/11 (airing this September 10-11), and I came away enormously impressed. Writer/producer Cyrus Nowrasteh, director David Cunningham, and the whole production team did a magnificent job in presenting the complex events leading up to 9/11 with accuracy, fairness, and artistry. The writing, acting, directing, editing, cinematography, and overall story-telling are first-rate. The Path to 9/11 is fast-paced and thoroughly gripping the whole way. I was not bored for a minute - and neither will you be. The five-hour miniseries (aired over two nights) is based on the 9/11 Commissions report, and also on ABC News correspondent John Millers book The Cell. ABC is going to air the first three hours on Sunday night September 10, and the final two hours (which culminate in a shattering depiction of 9/11) will be shown Monday night, September 11.
Im going to do a more detailed review of The Path to 9/11 in a few days, but I just wanted to quickly jot down a few thoughts now, because this miniseries is something that conservatives have got to support and get the word out about!
This is the first Hollywood production Ive ever seen that honestly depicts how the Clinton administration repeatedly bungled the capture of Bin Laden. One unbelievable sequence in the miniseries shows how the CIA and the Northern Allliance had Bin Ladens house in Afghanistan surrounded and were about to capture him, but Sandy Berger refused to give them the order to go ahead, and actually hung up the phone on the CIA agent on the ground! The miniseries is also amazing for depicting the Patriot Act as crucial to the safety of this country, and for showing how political correctness and bureaucratic inefficiency are Islamic terrorisms greatest friend...."

The writer producer is also interviewed on Frontpage.com
Some of his comments from that interview:
"Nowrasteh: This miniseries is not just about the tragedy and events of 9/11, it dramatizes "how we got there" going back 8 years to the first attack on the WTC and dealing with the Al Qaeda strikes against U.S. embassies and forces in the 90s, the political lead-up, the hatching of the terrorist plots, etc. We see the heroes on the ground, like FBI agent John O'Neill and others, who after the '93 attack felt sure that the terrorists would strike the WTC again. It also dramatizes the frequent opportunities the Administration had in the 90s to stop Bin Laden in his tracks -- but lacked the will to do so"
Also:
"Nowrasteh: The 9/11 report details the Clinton's administration's response -- or lack of response -- to Al Qaeda and how this emboldened Bin Laden to keep attacking American interests. The worst example is the response to the October, 2000 attack on the U.S.S. COLE in Yemen where 17 American sailors were killed. There simply was no response. Nothing."
Also:
"FP: What specific policies and strategies do you think America must apply to win this terror war?
Nowrasteh: The Patriot Act was a huge first step. We need to watch our borders and watch our "allies" like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan -- as well as our enemies. And I support anything we can do to assist those Iranian people who wish to join the civilized world."
Does THAT sound like it's going to be a Bush-bashing whitewash of Clinton's incompetence?

If this film is going to be like I suspect..expect the Left to attack it viciously.
Interestingly, the thread about it at Democrat Underground has already been edited by the moderator.
You have to ask yourself..why?
Okay, who forgot to put the kool aid in the Hollywood water supply?
HEY!
At ease friends. While the Comm. Rpt. was one source for the movie, all events portrayed were double and often triple sourced. A lot of 'good guys' worked very hard to make sure the wankers didn't pull a lefty on this.
Watch the movie - THEN bitch if you want.
(Listen, by trying to ride this publicity, the panel rides itself right into some accountability, friends)
Kudos for ABC for making it right. - Finally.
I read a review on Front Page magazine and they said that it was incredibly accurate, and it shows the missed Osama capture when BJClinton was too afraid to give the Ok.
Yes, and the Clinonistas are all very bent out of shape on this production. They do not want it to air!
Do you think they can stop it? I'm going to record it if it get's aired for sure!
;-)
They mentioned something about the original airdate for the 16th was the 11th.
What is ABC trying to pull???
I don't know whether to watch it, or wait for a director's cut unedited.
