More and more I think the media fosters this enviornment. They put on someone on two sides of everything who is allowed to spout unchallenged, the more outrageous the better. Moderate opinions are never aired, conclusions elude everyone, and sensationalism vies for ratings. The sound bite journalism does not favor getting all of the facts or getting to the bottom of things in any reasoned way. You have to be a Sherlock Holmes piecing facts together from various sources to try and get any idea of what is going on. In the meantime you endure hours of photos of infobabes monotonously repeating the same headlines in between commercials.
