It's just get hotter and hotter. Syria is massing at the border with Israel. IMO it looks like Iran had some plans to invade Israel via Syria and all this terror was was to be a major "diversion" the 16th through the end of the month.
The current cessation of free fire hostilities will present Iran and its client states the opportunity to exploit Israel's need to submit its operational equipment to refit, refurbish, re-supply and after action maintenance. Also, the grunts need the same decompression from the stress of daily combat. And, perhaps of even greater import, the ability to regenerate mission capable deep strike, interdiction and close air support air sorties after 34 days of maximum effort air operations may not be possible in the numbers that would be necessary to meet such a threat.
I'd give a year's retirement pay to be at the Pentagon's intelligence threat analysis section and daily briefings on the region. You can bet the farm that every intelligence asset we and Israel's friends possess is focused on the threat posed by a potentially aggressive Iran acting to exploit the success of its surrogate force in South Lebanon.
