A family friend of Cossor said she had known the arrested mother 12 years and believed her to be innocent.

Average people are ignorant to the point of being indistinguishable from stupidity.
The concept that other cultures migh have value systems and behaviors as foreign the them as the behavior of sharks, never occurs to them.
Everything must conform to their provincial views of everything. Even something as fundamental as the views toward children and, most importantly, the most basic beliefs, such as "right and wrong".

It's just get hotter and hotter. Syria is massing at the border with Israel. IMO it looks like Iran had some plans to invade Israel via Syria and all this terror was was to be a major "diversion" the 16th through the end of the month.
