Suicide bombers and jihadist "warriors" are not afraid of a quick and glorious death. However, a slow, humiliating, public, excruciatingly painful death, inflicted on people who are caught plotting these activities, would probably have a deterrent effect. Unfortunately, "cruel and unusual" punishments are banned in Western societies, and the Islamofascists know this.

These Islamic terror cells are strikingly similar to the SDS, Weather Underground, and other radicals of the New Left, who were shown to be mostly the children of Old Left parents. Contrary to stereotype, children do not often rebel against parental upbringing; often they adopt a more extreme and uncompromising version of parentally approved beliefs.
