The Chronicle sniped that Bush' "claims of cooperation might have been more credible if he hadn't been getting briefed about the British arrests during a ranch vacation in Crawford, Texas."

Oh yes, of course, the President of the United States has to be personally and directly involved in every terrorist investigation and apprehension. Duh.

If someone tries to tell you these attacks were the result of the President's foreign policy you can point out this: These attacks were a clone of the Bojinka (sp?) operation laid out ten years ago. Pretty tall order for the Governor of Texas to piss off Islamo-Nazis to that point.
