A single copy of that "newspaper" cover could have been printed weeks in advance, for just this purpose. (He does seem to have some influence with the local newspapers.) Then an edition with that cover is distributed, and voila, "fake but accurate" as they say on West 43rd Street.

The "newspaper" appears to be flash lit (sharp shadows) from the viewers upper left. That should leave shadows of Castro's head and beard on his left shoulder.
There are no other shadows, much less sharp shadows indicating studio lighting.
What's with all except the paper's name and headline being fuzzed out.
