Such an outrageous attempt by the state to co-opt the church seems almost laughable today, but I suspect that at the time nobody was laughing. Christians should always be on guard for attempts by the state to take over the Church.

I especially like how Hitler made certain that "Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbors Wife" got the axe.

If Hitler wanted a Bible free of any references to Jews, it must have been a pretty slim volume.

More problems result from the State interfering with religious matters than from religion interfering with the state matters. The state will use religion to justify actions that the state can't justify on its own authority.

Hitler consciously set about creating a "Messiah" image for himself, beginning with the Leni Riefenstahl movie as a template for replacing Jesus Christ with der Fuhrer and the Body of Christ with the German Volk.

Insolent and incompetet observers like Clinton, who identify Hitler and the Nazis as a form of Christians, do violence to truth and history, and reveal their hatred for Christians generally.
