Simply banning all Muslims from airplanes would do the job.

Lipstick too? They've already banned my face moisturer, my contact conditioning solution and cleaner, my contact soaking solution, my hair gel, my hair spray, my shampoo, my hair conditioning lotion, my deodorant (and this is truly a necessity in a confined space with people who don't shower on a daily basis), and my bottled water. When is enough, enough!

I disagree. I think we should all be treated the same. Two that were caught had a baby or was pregnant. It's ok to check out grandma as long as the "special" people get the same search.

The airlines work over granny and grandpa, while letting young, ME males trot right on through security. This is ridiculous, and an horrendous waste of taxpayer funds.

Forcing a person to leave his eyedrops in his checked luggage, when he's a 9th generation American, and a WW11 Vet to boot, is absurd.

Would anyone fly regularly if white people were never sceened at all?

Anyone can be a threat.

An innocent can be used as a mule unknowingly to carry explosives. White people from California became islamo facists.

Americans have caused airliners to crash by murdering the pilots. It happened in 1987 in California.

You have to check everyone. Sorry.

I am also amazed that we can't do the same thing based on passport nationality, which again is correlated with ethnicity, but not defined by ethnicity. If you are flying on a passport issued by an Islamist stronghold, expect to be scrutinized.

If Islamic society can't keep its mad dogs from jumping the fence and eating the neighbors' kids, the neighbors can be expected to deal with the problem with whatever means are needed. It's already a life-or-death situation, so whining about collateral damage will fall on deaf ears.

All Muslims are not terrorists, but all terrorists appear to be Muslims.

It's possible to do something similar to protect airline safety. It's possible, for example, to take four or five basic pieces of information about somebody (such as name, address, phone number, date of birth) and match them against the commercial databases used by mortgage companies and credit card issuers to arrive at a surprisingly sophisticated terrorist risk profile of each passenger.

This makes too much sense, thus can never happen. Of course, this article can't let go of political correctness. I would include as the most essential item of information: muslim or non-muslim?

It is a perfect solution to deal with aliases, too. If your name is not in the database, you get a mug-shot and fingerprinted, and you don't fly that day. If you are an alien and throw a hissy fit, you are expelled immediately with prejudice, no matter how big your bank account or how important you think you are.

Too simple?

For whatever it's worth, I think the cost of "accomodating" our clear enemies in the United States alone is closer to $trillion annualy. Of course, no such analysis can be permitted by the clueless. When it becomes unavoidable to see, the draconian measures will necessarily be worse. Much worse.

Enough is enough. We need separate lines in stores, banks and airports for Mexicans,Muslims and any non speaking entity. If you don't speak english...separate line. If you are an illegal alien...separate line. If you are a muslim and look like terrorist....separate line. I'm tired of waiting in lines for non citizen dolts.

"banned in the United States; the first by the U.S. Congress"

This should be an election issue. Why do we have to wait three hours in line because of a small number of Islamic killers?

Let's vote out of office any politician who stands in the way of making this simple change: screen passengers for terrorism related potentials and keep them off the planes.

Political correctness and liberal touchy-feeliness will mean the death of civilization. We are forbidden to even acknowledge the identity of the enemy.

The liberal hand-wringers had no problem during the DC sniper incident with cops stopping every white guy driving a white truck, even though that turned out to be an erroneous profile. Whereas Muslim males have committed all the recent terrorism here and in Britain, but we can't profile them.

Please notice that neither program -- neither risk profiling nor trusted traveller -- would make any use of information about ethnicity or religion.

And why not, Mr. Frum?

Our prescreening process may be ethnically neutral, but the results will not be.

Every FReeper should read Thomas Sowell's A Conflict of Visions to delve deeper into this phenomenon. He treats this subject with his typical, brilliant analysis.
