Govan ran against Judge Greer on Greer's handling of the Schiavo case during the height of all the hype and he lost with Greer getting almost 70% of the vote. At the same time polls throughout Florida showed strong disapproval of the government's trying to butt into business that the majority(68%)of Floridians considered a private family matter.

On a national basis, you can track the Presidents slide in the polls from the same period. The Schiavo government interference cost the G.O.P. dearly. It weakened Tom Delay and allowed the vultures to get to him...remember how powerfull he was before he stepped into it with his Schiavo declarations. The religous right wing of the G.O.P. doesn't have nearly the numbers to derail Crist.

Govan ran against Judge Greer on Greer's handling of the Schiavo case...

No, he didn't. People who were aware of Judge Greer's malfeasance through other means may have voted for Govan, but Govan was forbidden from mentioning it himself. Indeed, campaign rules for judges forbid Govan or Greer from really saying much of anything in their campaigns, though that didn't stop Greer from cheating. If only one candidate in a race is allowed to campaign, should it be a surprise if that candidate wins?

KDD, you know that Judge Greer violated the Judicial Canons during the election and State Attorney McCabe, the Public Defender, the Prosecutor and the Sheriff also violated Florida elections by lending their offices to Judge Greer to fool the public by running a campaign with the misrepresentation that he was "tough". People thought they were voting for a criminal court judge.

He fooled the people and the Judicial Qualifications Commission are his cronies so complaints there fell on deaf ears.

The violations speak for themselves. He should have been disqualified from the race because his cheating led to felony murder.

Judge Greer also sent out a mailer with Chief Justice Harry Anstead's photo and a quote on it that looked to be an endorsement. The Fla Supremes denied it was an endorsement but again, this was an example Judge Greer CHEATING IN A JUDICIAL ELECTION.

In a public forum at USF, Judge Greer was asked if he was blind. Judge Greer said "no". But afterwards, he told somebody one on one that he was... LIAR, LIAR, LIAR. His LIES killed a human being. That's Charlie Crist's hero, an evil old man who has a driver because he can't see. He can't see evidence but he sure can detect the scent of cold, hard cash.

The President's poll numbers slid because TERRI DIED, not because she lived. Did you come here today to put your own spin on what happened to Terri Schiavo? The right to die agenda is in opposition to the position of Free Republic which is pro-life.

If you are going to preach for the right to die movement, maybe you should start a vanity thread. KDD. We are discussing "Crist worries conservatives" not your take on the president's poll numbers and the right to die agenda.

At least Jan Govan followed the judicial canons and election rules for Judges. Meanwhile, Judge Greer had sixty square foot billboards plastered all over Pasco and Pinellas County. Those billboards were ILLEGAL. In addition, Judge Greer did own stock in the billboard company. So, he essentially paid himself for the billboards he ordered from the company.

When asked about it, Greer said in public, "I dunno."

A real fabulous orator the judge with the poison pen is. That Greer is a republican is the biggest grossout of all time.
