They might have to regulate them. I suspect this is why NYC had a cell phone outage. I think Homeland Security may have pulled the plug while they figured out if a threat was imminent to NYC.

According to news reports, the Queens cell phone outage was caused by a water leak in a Queens Verizon switching station for Nextel cell phone service. It only affected Sprint Nextel subscribers on the old Nextel network in and around Queens (not all of NYC). I doubt Homeland Security had anything to do with the outage.

Oh my, that never occurred to me. I thought it was odd that cell service went out in Queens , was it Queens?
