Reading this, I'm thinking I might want to live like the Amish. No public transportation, no electronics, hunting weapons ready, veggies canned, off the grid, ready supply of water, no need for gas or electricity...

I lived like that for nearly four years in the Canadian bush. It was wonderful.

I have seen Amish various times at O'hare, Midway and CMI. Saw one buying a scanner at the local Best Buy 5-10 years ago.
