No, the retreat was not a headfake.
Olmert is a limpwrsited Liberal. The IDF gave him the plans to eliminate Hezzbollah inside of two weeks. Instead Olmert Vacillated and went with a plan neither fish nor fowl [common liberal response; doomed to failure].
The White House gave him every chance to drop the hammer, instead he wrung his hands.
Finally the pressure on America to find a diplomatic solution was getting too strong. So we told him to hold off while we tried to torpedo the diplomatic process one more time...if the news this morning is correct, the Lebanese would not sign off to the plan [placing their heads in the noose]...thus giving America political cover for the diplomatic route failing and Olmert a second chance to do what he should've done from jump street...and in the process save his own political life.
If the Israelis do finally attack full bore, watch for the "Testicle Free Zone" Eurowheenies to scream bloody murder...and watch further for Olmert to snatch defeat out of the hands of victory.
