That's wild...I've had this framed quotation in my studio for years...it's a little different, but, barely...

"We sleep soundly in our beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on our behalf." Winston Churchill

So, I googled the phrase, with Winston's name and came up with a ton of sites listing it as such.

Then I googled the quote without Winston's name and came up with several sites with the quote beginning with "people" credited to Orwell. ?!?!?

Who knows? I guess maybe they both said it...fabulous quote whomever said it! ;-)
