A threat to what, "racial purity?" The anti-Semites among the Germans were seething with envy (as is usually the case with anti-Semites) and desperately searching for a scapegoat for their miserable economy and humilating defeat in WW1.

The (negative) sentiments of Americans toward Muslims isn't even remotely comparable.

The sentiments come from very different motivations. There's no question about that.

I have no problem with profiling. I think it's just common sense. We should do more of it, and less of treating us all as if we're terrorists.

I draw the line somewhere earlier than where the government can demand to know your religious beliefs and force you to carry some special ID announcing that fact.
