If you have read Freeper Jeff Head's fiction series "Dragon's Fury," this is looking more and more like the scenario he laid out, except he had Brazil as joining the Axis of Evil. But Venezuela works, too.

Brazil as joining the Axis of Evil. Brazil was actually one of the good guys after the space station was taken out by the Chinese .... it wiped out one of their cities and they immediately joined with the US.

LS, in the
Dragon's Fury Series, Brazil fights on the side of the right, with America and the free west. In the books, Venezuela and Argentina join the Axis of evil, and Panama is taken by the Chinese and a puppet regime installed.
Brazil and Columbia become our principle allies in South America in what turns into a very hard a terrible fight.
