Same here. Its not so much that the security takes long - its that you can't forecast how long it will take, so you have to take the worst-possible-case scenario, and arrive based on that, then sit captive in the airport.
Last time I flew, between the waiting and the flights (Cleveland<->Dallas), I went through three novels, three magazines, and I slept for half the flight.
