The time in which the evil was committed is irrelevant to my point.
People have committed, and still commit, sins in the name of Chritianity. Those evil acts do not make Christianity a religion of violence, or of hate.
Instead of making generalizations, you should focus on the actual perpetrators.
My brother was in Mogadishu, having a bad day. He killed a lot of muslims that day. He didn;t kill the muslims in the homes he busted into to find shelter. They were huddled on the floor, hoping the madness would go away. They do not deserve your hatred. Pity perhaps, but not hatred. Many like them are not strong enough to stand up to people who are willing to kill themselves to make a point, who would gladly slit their throats if they speak out, who would gladly kill their families.
Last I checked, Americans were supposed to be about helping them become free from such oppression. You know, that whole "De Oppresso Liber" thing?
You are the very embodiment of the saying "We have met the enemy and he is us"
I can just see the expression of dumb astonishment on your face as your beloved Muslim neighbor shows up one day at your door and proceeds to hack the heads of you and your family off. All in the name of their "peace loving" Allah, of course.
