Michael Medved has written a wonderful essay explaining at length why Jews are hated by the world. In essence, Jews are resented because they appear to be different from non-Jews in terms of socialibility, values and worldview. For most or all of these reasons, devout Jews have set themselves apart from the world in following an ancient covenant established between them and God. Their refusal to do what's popular rather than what's right accounts for much of the ill-will against them. But Jews are unwilling to do that just to make life easier for themselves. The entire idea of chosenness is to become a holy nation, a nation of priests and change how the earth looks at God. Judaism's ideal has never been about a world-girdling empire but about establishing the kingdom of heaven in men's hearts, changing human nature from within. Jews' revere life and seek to making it worth living in this world and the highest ideal of human aspiration isn't about wars or territory or power but living as God wants Man to live on earth. If anti-Semitism makes realizing that ideal dangerous for Jews, its appeal must be considerable for Jews still seek to bring it about - the Jewish idea of a Golden Age for the Jewish people and mankind is to be found in the future.

Interesting article, although I'm still having difficulty trying to understand why the world hates Jews. Medved basically says it's because the Jews won't assimilate with others. That can also be said about groups such as Muslims.

I think its more than the perception of Jewish clannishness. Its the Jewish belief that only God is the supreme ruler of the world and that other beliefs that deny His authority over the earth must be rejected as invalid or inpious is what accounts for anti-Semitism. Its one thing if Jews live differently from every one else. Its quite another matter entirely when they hold their beliefs are not only right but other people's beliefs are wrong. Our own human nature would like to believe we're better than any one else and that we don't need God. To confess we do is a challenge to our ego and the world has never forgiven the Jews for demanding that it look to God as not only the source of life but the source of what is good, holy, and true.

Maybe the perception is what makes it different. I'd have to say that about every sort of religious denomination would say that their beliefs about their God are the only true ones. That probably doesn't make the Jews any different in that respect.

My feeling is that the Muslims do not assimilate, they hold to their traditional ways wherever they live, and they fail to flourish because of it. The other people look at the Muslims and say, "What losers!" ands this breeds anger within the Muslim community.

The very idea that human beings have individual rights not subject to the whims of an earthly monarch, but subject to the laws of Yahweh, is directly from Moses.

The latter (Genesis) also ruins the illogical and non-biological arguments of homosexual monogamy. In a secular sense, homosexuality is an idolatry of perversion. It is in no way an anatomical function of the human organism, but a phantasmagoric creation from within the mentally disturbed human mind, a social psychosis, naked and on full exhibitionist display.

This is the whole crux (pun intended) of their attack on creationism - - they are really frustrated by Genesis, but cannot destroy the axiomatic state of procreant human biology, it does not fit their religious agenda.

Homosexual monogamy advocates seek ceremonious sanctification of their anatomical perversions and esoteric absolution for their guilt-ridden, impoverished egos.

Neither of those will satisfy their universal dissatisfaction with mortality or connect them to something eternal. With pantheons of fantasies as their medium of infinitization, they still have nothing in them of reality, any more than there is in the things that seem to stand before us in a dream.

Crowley's creed, "Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the Law," (which is actually from Francois Rabelais) and used by Neo-Pagan nutcases without attribution for obvious politically correct reasons, is with certainty no different than the National Socialist "will to power," or their ubermensch mentality.

As a RC growing up in a Jewish neighborhood I remember the mother of a Jewish friend of mine saying
 " The greatest threat to Jewish men today are Italian woman". I know quit a few Jewish- Italian couples ,
several  who are Jewish -black and at least one Jewish-Puerto Rican

Your comparison is indeed interesting and it made me think of another group that might work with the statement about Jews; Asians.

Yet while there is some resentment nowhere near that which is directed at Jews.

Years ago, in my young and impressionable years, I dated a guy from NY who HATED Jews. His reasoning for his hatred was always, "Its that 'Zionism' crap! They stick together. They only hire their own for the good jobs and keep everyone else down. They try to be the smartest and the best and make all the money. Look at all the doctors and lawyers who are Jews." (He was Puerto Rican) When I pressed him further about whether or not he would give preferential treatment to a PR over a Jew if he had a business and 2 equally qualified applicants applied for a job with their ethnicity/religion being the only difference, he wouldn't blink an eye in his response that he would hire the PR. He totally did NOT get the fact that he was more than willing to do what he HATED someone else for doing. Yes, he votes Democrat and is extremely LIBERAL.
