I'm all for splitting up into two nations:
The Libs can have the Northeast, along the Canada border, down to Baja.
Conservatives get the sunny south, midwest and central west.
Libs can sing Kumbaya and throw away all security screening at their airports (IF they still allow fuel-guzzling planes to enter their realm). No border barriers, no wiretapping...wait! They'll replace the CIA with the DEPARTMENT-FOR-MEETING-THE-DEMANDS-OF-OUR-MUSLIM-FRIENDS.
Meanwhile, WE will have a 10-ft electronic wall with guard towers every 1/2 mile around our entire border. Every citizen required to train in the reserves [like Israel]. Strict control on immigration...and then only for those with desired skills. Leaking national secrets punishable by death...no make that punishable by exiling them to Blue America.
And so on.
And then we sit back and see how long the ninnies up north survive.

I am planning on moving to Georgia once my youngest graduates high school though. Between the taxes, liberals and cold weather, I have had enough of the North East.
So, as the threat increases, your advice is to split the union, wall everyone else out and form a militia state? I have to admit, I've never considered such an approach. Sounds a bit like a morph between Switzerland and North Korea.
