Whose ports?

Ports as in internet connections. Standard web connections appeared to be unaffected, but newsgroup ports died, subchannel ports for multiuser games died.. Still listening to the reports of others, but it may have just been the Los Angeles area - I've gotten reports from across the Western US and Canada, but it appears most of the servers they were trying to access were in the greater Los Angeles area.

Not something that would affect most people, but in 15 years on the net, I've never seen anything like this.
