Only the barest essentials - including passports and wallets - will be allowed to be carried on board in transparent plastic bags. Hope they'll at least allow you to bring a book to read. It is a long flight across the Atlantic.

But not as long as across the Pacific.
And not near as long as across the Pacific 35 years ago.

Hope they'll at least allow you to bring a book to read. It is a long flight across the Atlantic. They'll entertain you instead with "Stewardess Karaoke Night" while you remain strapped in your seats unable to escape.

This is hitting too close to home. Thank God for the Brit Intelligence!

We are going to London and Italy in the fall and I was just thinking that to, they said they wouldn't even allow bottles of water or any liquid.
Wonder if they caught all those 11 "students" yet.
We need tighter security on our BORDERS PERIOD!!!!

Am currently in London, scheduled to fly out tomorrow to the US. It sounds so far that there will be NO books allowed in the cabins at all, which will be a real hardship for a transatlantic flight. Given the incredible state of Heathrow earlier today, I guess I'll be grateful just to get on the plane and make it safely home. Internet conections have been iffy, so I'd better sign off soon.
