Could be worse. His career could have descended to the Steve Martin level.

Huh? What exactly is wrong with Martin's career? Doesn't have much trouble getting work, the last time I checked?

Yeah, Martin's technically working, but he's appearing in crap and has for years.

Only that he's not funny anymore and has resorted to playing the "harried, white-haired dad" in every single movie he's done in the last ten years.

(Sort of reminds me of Tom Cruise - "I like the one where he plays the cocky young guy.")

His one recent departure, attempting to reprise the magic of Peter Sellers in The Pink Panther was so pathetic I walked out.

One of the best movies I've seen this year is Shopgirl, with Steve Martin and Claire Danes. Martin wrote it. I really enjoyed it.
