Good comedians are almost always good actors--timing, I guess. Actors often make for bad comedy, however. What I can't stand are the roles Williams chose-- so shmaltzy you could gag. He is amazing when on an improv roll.

years and years ago....I happened to see a "60 minutes" piece w/R.Williams and Jonathon Winters rattling out "improvs" back and forth....it was hysterical.
Was the only time I thought he was funny
