They haven't given much in the way of details as to what the little scamps were up to but so far it doesn't look to encouraging. Best to make an example of them.
The thing that worries me is this is a deception operation to cover the real (possibly home-grown?) team getting into position.
FBI chases the 11 down, diverting critical resources away from other investigations.
The eleven get deported and the actual attack goes down as planned.
These SOBs are cunning, so I don't exclude it as a possibility.
Not to sound too much like Louis Farrakan, but there are 11 of them and this is the 8th month. Next month is the 9th month and one can surmise that they planned something to comemorate
9/11.
