World to End on August 22: Women and Children to be Hardest Hit
night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to 'the farthest mosque', usually identified with Jerusalem,
Manufactured history in order to make a claim that Jerusalem's history goes back to the beginning of Islam. The night flight supposedly happened while Muhammad was still in Mecca, before his move to Medina. He moved to Medina in 622 and scholars claim the night flight was around 618CE. There wasn't a single mosque in Jerusalem before the Muslims conquered the city in 638, 6 years after muhammad died and the Persians occupied the city from 614 to 628. Jerusalem was a Christian city the entire lifetime of Muhammad (except for the Persian occupation) and the city was full of Christian churches. If Muhammad took off for heaven he would have taken off from a Christian Church, not a mosque. Unlikely. Islamic belief is full of crap like this. They simply have rewritten history to fit their beliefs. In the time of Muhammad the only mosques in existence were in Mecca and Medina, one main, the other "furthest" (Al-Aqsa) which would be Medina. Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem wasn't built until 711, some 80 years after the death of Muhammad.
