A Palestinian militant fires toward Israeli troops during an arrest raid in the West Bank village of Qabatiyeh near Jenin, Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006. Four Palestinians were wounded when the army arrested an Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades militant, Palestinians sources said. The army said two Islamic Jihad militants were arrested during the operation. "It does look "off.""
Certainly does. If it IS a fake I like the detail. They even have a spent shell casing in the air.

If you check out the Photos you'll see that the "dead" guy in photo 2 looks awfully familiar to "not dead" guys in photos 4 and 6.
E's not dead

Well he's not in uniform so I have to assume he's a "civilian" even though the caption calls him a "militant".
I guess if he was shot in retaliation for opening fire, he'd be listed among dead civilians.

Those people would be getting their faces slammed with HOT brass each time that guy fired!!! If this were a real photo, those guys would be ducking and/or running like hell to get away from the brass!!!

If these lazy and stupid media outlets are going to create news du jour. These images are fair game! Lets sue the bastards! I have no qualms about questioning every single photo from AP or Reuters because the cannot be trusted.

I noticed that everybody seems to be in perfect focus.
Kinda hard with some in the background.

If the gunman is a Pali, why is he holding an M-16? The Pali's use AK-47s. The sling looks non-standard, too, completely different from what is saw the IDF honeys wearing.

The people in the background are being hit by the ejecting shells; that is why they are wincing.

The angle of the
light that is on their heads does appear to be different...........
Background people: Light seems to coming from a 1 to 2 o'clock position.
Shooter: Light is more directly overhead at 12 o'clock.
JMHO.

I agree. I think it's staged. If not, the photographer is standing in clear view of whoever the shooter is trying to hit. However, I don't see any reason to Photoshop it, when you've got people willing to pose.

It's a lousy fake.
One of the bigger mistakes novice PhotoShoppers make is not knowing when to "degrade" their own images.
The biggest issue, aside from perspective, is that the "shooter" is too sharp.
He needs to have the same kind of digital noise or blurryness applied to him as the spectators originally suffered.
10% Gaussian blur would have completed this photo.

Don't be duped. This is a case of "see, BOTH sides do this". Can't be certain, but the photo looks OK to me. Looks like the gun just fired; residual smoke visible in front of the boys an one man. And if the gunman is pasted in, someone did a fine job.
