Joe Lieberman is not a rat.
He is a man of integrity.
He could have won the primary HANDILY if he would have backed away from the war.
He won't.
He won't because he sees that it has got to be fought.
He doesn't have a Democratic puppetmaster - they threw him under the train last night.
And he isn't as interested in his political career as he is his beliefs, at least on certain issues.
We are at war.
THE issue is the war.
Lieberman is right on the war.
He was beaten as a Democrat by an anti-war kookburger.
The Republican is mired in gambling debt and has horrible integrity issues.
So, that means that either Joe Lieberman runs as an independent, and wins, or an anti-war kookburger takes his Senate seat.
Lieberman is doing the right thing.
And in the process he is cutting off all possible future political patronage and follow-on jobs with his former party.
This is not the act of a political whore.
It's the act of a stubborn man.
Joe is right on the War, and given the lack of a respectable Republican option, he has to be the choice of any sensible voter in Connecticut.
No one would have bought that for an instant.
The notion that Lieberman is doing the right thing is rediculous. He's doing the self centered selfish thing. As to his support of the war, so what. We do not know what his motivation is. Perhaps he supports Isreal ahead of America and this is the only reason he is supporting the war. Can you say with certainty that this is not the case?
He is a politcal whore, you can pretend that is not the case but twice he has been given the opportunity to act with dignity and respect for the voters, first with all of America voting and now Connecticut. Twice he has put himself above VOTING RESULTS. In otherwords, he believes he's better than the voters of the party he continues to choose to caucus with. Screw him. The rat party is the party of the crazys and the lunatics. He chose to stay with the rat party while others were leaving during Clinton because he shares their socialist policies.
He remained in the party of traitors the entire time. Even while it was obvious that his party hates America and is doing everything in it's power to bring down this president and implement socialism. Now he's loses power and decides that he cannot accept the will of the VOTERS HE HAS CHOOSEN TO BE REPRESENTED by? Please. Principle, my arse.
Now is the time to rally around even a flawed Republican candidate so that we can increase our Senate lead. Joe is power mad like every other rat politician.
