You are correct.
As much as I detested FDR, he seemed to do the correct things to win a global World War.
He was the right man for his time. We may not agree with everything he did but there was a very real possiblity that without him there could have been either a Communist Revolution in the USA, a fascist revolution in the USA, and/or the total Nazi or Soviet domination of Europe.
