Does anyone know if there is a "draft" in Israel? If so, are women drafted, same as men?

Or perhaps their service is volunteer, same as in U.S.?

What is the length of their service?

I think every Jewish young person is required to serve in the military whether they are at war or not. Not a bad idea.

Mandatory service to the israeli armed forces if you were born in Israel and lived there till at least the age of 13 (even if you move out of the country).

A former girlfriend of mine from college is israeli...she left her sophmore year to serve her stint in the IDF...when she came back she had a rock hard bod...looked awesome, Maya was pretty to begin with, and had a lot, lot, lot, of energy...
