..."sensitive" like our old, more traditional forms of media. There's a tendency in the MSM to portray "have-nots" as being the product of societal neglect at best and misfortunate victims of the ruling classes at worst. These "victims" are almost always characterized as virtuous innocents. Granted, financial misfortune and struggles come to all of us now and then but sometimes being poor is simply due to laziness and/or self-destructive habits. The MSM is too senstive and vested in the liberal perspective to honestly tell it like it is.

Dang. The teachers always told my parents that I was lazy in school and did not work near my potential....well today, I am not rich. They must have been right. Darn!!! lol.

I have no idea who this guy is, but from his tone I can only conclude that he is just like the enormous douche bag in the bar who lets you know his Rolex is real within two minutes of meeting you.
He's the Typhoid Mary of douche chills.

I see a lot of denial on this thread.
I think the guy is right.

Obviously you understand the difference and I have tried to explain these concepts several times at FR but as I said on that issue most folks here become liberals and the venom against MLM is nearly on the same scale as Islamic terrorists ! The irony is that network marketing is the best promoter of free enterprise and probably the most conservative, freedom loving, patriotic group of people you could find. You would think that would be a natural fit at FR but that is not so. On the money issue there is so much misinformation and emotional thinking that logic goes out the door. You are welcome to attempt to clarify the issue and I will be a very interested and supportive fellow freeper. No one (other than you ) is commenting on the fact that LAZY People in fact do not get rich, that is a fact isn't it. Maybe that statement hit a little too close to home for some people !

What the hell are you talking about? Are you a human being or some kind of computer generated randomly generated typing machine?
To: Pukin Dog
OK- so I get this Kiyosaki's point. Lazy people don't get rich. He's written (co-written) some books if you are curious. The guy isn't all bad by any means.

He is in no form or fashion involved in multi-level marketing.Kiyosaki expressly advocates MLM as a means to become rich. His sales to the MLM crowd put him on the best-seller lists.
As for Ziglar, he made his money from motivational speaking.
Ziglar was a nobody with an Amway past. He became buddies with Mary Kay Ash in Dallas...and became a successful speaker and author because of his affiliation with her MLM.
Again, you are simply wrong.
No. You are simply uninformed.

"LOL, you are just mad because some of us don't care how much money you have and don't care how you made it. Good for you, but I'll pass."
Not at all, I am merely pointing out that LAZINESS prevents people from living their dreams including financial wealth. Are you disputing the fact that LAZY people do not get rich or are you justifying laziness with some lame ass liberal sounding excuse ?

Nope, I am done with this thread. A horrifying display of emotional reasoning is not what I want to deal with during my morning coffee.

Do you have any Amway shampoo to sell me? How about a infomercial seminar to sign me up for? If not, please be quiet.
To: TonyRo76
Had to be! His attitude reeks of that. (See my #23.) It totally figures...
You nailed it. And the funny thing is...the Ambots are out in force on this thread defending MLM. Ask them to produce income tax returns showing a profit...and they'll disappear. ;-)

Teddy Kennedy is lazy and he 'got' rich so theoretically speaking most lazy people will not 'get' rich but there are several prominent lazy rich people.
To: Hildy
I guess it's your definition of rich... 100% agreed. A big car and a big house and no time makes a very poor man indeed.

LOL, you mean the guy with frizzy blowdried hair and the cheesy mustache?

"This entire thread means nothing to me. It only displays how in some ways, we who call ourselves conservative can be just as brain-dead as those on the other side. I see no reason to pursue this thread, when so many choose to speak out of ignorance"
I agree with your assessment, financial misinformation is so wide spread that it is very difficult to have a sane logical discussion even on this bastion of sanity (FR). People are vested in their financial thought processes and dislike anyone upsetting their belief system even though that other person is speaking the truth. It is almost like the invasion of the body snatchers when you personal finance on FR, it almost becomes like DU. I find it best to discuss political issues here where we do get a genuinely conservative view point and it reinstates my faith in America.

Those who are serious about becoming rich aren't wasting their time reading shallow articles in Yahoo! Finance. ;)They're not sitting around posting on Free Republic all day either.
oops - that's what I'm doing! gulp
