Lanny, you and the Clintoons showed the current looney left how to do it! Now yer worried about vitriol and hatred? Can you say: Paula, Kathleen, Juanita... all victims of not only the first rapist, but of his destruction machine!

I held on to the view that the left was inherently more tolerant and less hateful than the right.
You bet Lanny - here's some 'tolerant and less hateful leftists' for you:
- Lenin
- Stalin
- Mao
- Pol Pot
- Castro
Sooooooo Lanny, except for Lenin and Stalin you grew up with the full knowledge of how 'tolerant' these Leftists were. Why heck, they only KILLED a
couple hundred million people combined.
Sheesh, talk about sanctimony - you phony putz.

Anyone remember Davis lambasting Carvile and Begala for their outrageous hideous attacks on Ken Starr?
Didn't think so.

On "Lieberman vs. Murtha": "as everybody knows, jews ONLY care about the welfare of other jews; thanks ever so much for reminding everyone of this most salient fact, so that we might better ignore all that jewish propaganda [by Lieberman] about participating in the civil rights movement of the 60s and so on" (by "tomjones," posted on Daily Kos, Dec. 7, 2005). "Good men, Daniel Webster and Faust would attest, sell their souls to the Devil. Is selling your soul to a god any worse? Leiberman cannot escape the religious bond he represents. Hell, his wife's name is Haggadah or Muffeletta or Diaspora or something you eat at Passover" (by "gerrylong," posted on the Huffington Post, July 8, 2006).

Oh, the piety of a reformed blind man.
It seems that he can see with one eye now that the attacks are directed towards one of his kind.
Me thinks he would still be blind in both eyes if the attacks were directed towards his political enemies (George Bush).
Can you spell hypocrite? Look it up and you'll see Lanny's picture next to the definition.

This kind of scary hatred, my dad used to tell me, comes only from the right wing--in his day from people such as the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy, with his tirades against "communists and their fellow travelers."
Hey Lanny, first of all McCarthy was right!
Second of all - FU!

This kind of scary hatred, my dad used to tell me, comes only from the right wing--in his day from people such as the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy, with his tirades against "communists and their fellow travelers." The word "McCarthyism" became a red flag for liberals, signifying the far right's fascistic tactics of labeling anyone a "communist" or "socialist" who favored an active federal government to help the middle class and the poor, and to level the playing field. Lanny, that's what you get for living in a '50s mindset...you know, like you accuse conservatives of...

...Bigotry and hate aren't just for right-wingers anymore... It never was, sir.
And yet Mr. Davis spread this notion for years and years. Now it's come back to bite him and he's squealing. Can't say I'm surprised. Can't say I'm terribly broken up about it either.

what does he mean anymore??
The left has always been full of hate

Well, golllllllllly darn!
He noticed the left has a near-monopoly on hatred and venom - but ONLY after seeing it himself.
< /Beverly Hillbilly imitation >
Gee. I wonder where he DID find hatred and spite on the part of the "far-right" ....

"I came to believe that we liberals couldn't possibly be so intolerant and hateful, because our ideology was famous for ACLU-type commitments to free speech, dissent and, especially, tolerance for those who differed with us. And in recent years--with the deadly combination of sanctimony and vitriol displayed by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Michael Savage--I held on to the view that the left was inherently more tolerant and less hateful than the right. Now, in the closing days of the Lieberman primary campaign, I have reluctantly concluded that I was wrong. The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and hatred and sanctimony.
Well, there is a different learning curve for liberals with a lot of strange bends, twists, and knots in it. It takes longer for some of them to get it. People used to joke about "liberals who had been mugged." Welcome home, Lanny!
To: Valin
Well, well. The alpha-leftist has spoken. I guess there are such things as left wing bigots and bigoted black people now.
Either that, or the left and the Democrat party is beginning to seriously crack up. At least we can hope so.
